How About a Hubbell?
Consider Hubbell brand pop-up receptacles as a compact design option for your home. Hubbell’s UL-listed receptacles are qualified to withstand up to a half gallon of liquid when in the up position. They are also certified tamper-resistant receptacles. These receptacles are 15-amp outlets rated for 20-amp circuits. The outlet is installed with the ground pin at the top of the receptacle, which varies from the traditional 3-prong plug style.
These low-profile pop-up receptacles measure 2 inches from the base of the counter with a 4-inch diameter. The unit’s entire length measures 7 inches from top to bottom, and it requires 5 inches of space below the countertop.
The Hubbell line of pop-ups are available in seven finishes, so you can choose the best style to complement or coordinate with your existing design aesthetic.
These pop-up outlets can be installed in your counter top two ways: surface mounted or flush mounted. Surface-mounted pop-up receptacles are installed into the counter, leaving the top of the device protruding from the surface of the counter. Flush-mounted pop-up receptacles are installed into the counter so that the top of the unit is flush with the counter top height. Review the images below for an illustration of the aesthetic differences between these two mounting options.
