The Hubbell RCT200BR is a surface-mount pop-up receptacle with a metal brass top lid that lies flat atop the countertop when closed. This Hubbell receptacle can regulate a 15-amp current supply, enough for all standard kitchen appliances. Its design can withstand heavy usage and spill accidents common in a commercial kitchen and busy bar areas. The top lid features a warm golden hue with yellow tones to complement the traditional dark marble, wood kitchens and classic opulent decor. The lid also provides good spill resistance against small to moderate liquid spills.
This pop-up unit features two 15-amp tamper-resistant receptacles, conveniently located at opposite ends to prevent cord tangling and provide easy access for multiple devices. Compliant with NEC code 406.5E, these receptacles are suitable for countertops exposed to spills and dust. Plus these are rated for residential and commercial use in Canada and the US. The Hubbell RCT200BR is CSA-approved and cUL-listed for Canadian consumers and UL 223A-listed in the USA.
The unit is designed for countertop indoor applications and can withstand spills during routine use in a standard kitchen. However, it is important to note that it is not tested for any outdoor use or areas that have high splash risk, like swimming pools.

Because sometimes spills happen!
One of the biggest accidents to occur in kitchens can be spills and splashes. Knowing that these accidents will occur, Hubbell has test and designed these pop up outlets to be water resistant to up to a half gallon spill! To make this happen these units features a unique silicone gasket that seals and protects the outlets and inner mechanics from water entering the device when in the open or closed position. To further protect the device, each 15A receptacle are water rater and tamper resistant to meet code.
Technical Jargon and Installation Steps
These units are UL498 Section 146 Listed which means they have been built and listed to be water resistant to a half gallon of liquid spilled on the device. In addition they meet NEC 406.5(E) code for Receptacle assemblies for installation in countertop surfaces are listed for countertop applications.
Installation is a breeze, with 8 simple steps (We do recommend the devices be installed by a licensed electrician)
1) Cut a circular hole approximately 3.5" in diameter in the countertop for surface mount installation. If installing a flush mounted trim, an additional counterbore cut is necessary: .09" deep with a 4" in diameter.
2) Remove the base from the housing to expose screw terminals.
CAUTION: Before handling the cable,
make sure the circuit is OFF.
3) Feed cable through the lock nut under the countertop, as this will secure the device later.
4) Fasten the metal jacket to the device base. A fitting will be required (not included).
5) Strip conductors to the correct length as shown on the device. Ground the base by bonding the green or bare wire to the grounding screw on the base. Terminate the green or bare wire to the green screw marked. Terminate the white or gray wire to the white screw marked “WHITE” and black or red wire to the brass screw marked “HOT”.
6)Reattach the base to the housing and secure with screws.
7) Insert the device into the countertop opening and hand tighten the lock nut to secure the device in place.
8) Terminate the device to the power source. Press the cover to pop up the receptacle to use, press again to close.
